Welcome to the first public release!

WOPT (a.k.a OPT23DO) converts X-Wing vs. Tie, Balance of Power, and X-W Alliance OPT Files to the Jedi Knight 3DO Spec. All geometry is converted, but the associated textures are not. For your convenience, WOPT preserves the texture vertices, but your artistic skill will be needed to render the model. Look in the 3DO in the materials section to find the default MAT filenames and dimensions.

Points of Interest

While the program is "Converting to 3DO", it is performing these operations: 1: Re-organizing face and vertex lists into distinct levels of detail to correlate with JK GeoSets. 2: Scaling the vertices, and converting them into mesh "local space" to be compatible with the 3DO Hierarchy. 3: Scaling texture vertices to be compatible with JK "texels". 4: Re-calculating face and vertex normals. 5: Calculating bounding spheres.

The accumulative file size for the outputted 3DO is usually 105% of the read OPT. That is not bad at all...

If OPT23DO detects a face with no texture associated with it, the face is preserved but is flagged as "translucent". This is fine for 3D acceleration, but is not for software rendering. If this is a problem, write to me at the addresses given below.
